Kelly Nash grew up in Davie, Florida a city located just outside Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kelly Nash was raised boating and fishing together with her father Ed Nash. Kaitlyn Nash is her sister and Carolyn Nash is her brother. Kelly Nash is from the English, Irish and Swedish ethnic groups. Her great-grandfather, a Portuguese native, came to America from Portugal.

 Kelly Nash loved the Miami Marlins from an early age. While she was a sports fan from a young age, she always dreamed of becoming a news anchor. In the year 2006, Kelly Nash graduated from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina with an undergraduate degree in Communication as well as Media Studies. Then, she completed her studies at Clemson with a Master's Degree in Youth Development Leadership in 2009. As a condition of covering their soccer and baseball teams during the duration of her Sports information Department career, she was awarded full athletic scholarships through the Clemson Academic Department.

 Kelly Nash, a MLB Network studio host, can be seen on numerous shows, including Quick Pitch, the nightly highlights show. Her appearances on On The Fly, the Nightly Game recap show, as well as NHL Network Studio are a part of her duties as a host for NHL Network Studio. In March of 2015 she joined the MLB Network. She also began contributing to the NHL Network in 2015. The NHL Network's day-to-day operations were run from the MLB Network headquarters.
